What We Offer
CLASSICAL BALLET
This classical style of expressive movement has something to offer for everyone. Ballet has the technique which is the foundation of all dance.
TAP DANCE
A gentle, rhythmical and enjoyable way to keep fit!
Tap is rhythm – rhythm is tap. Its origins are many and varied. We offer graded examinations from Age 3 to adult.
MODERN THEATRE
Modern Theatre dance is a rhythmic dance style which originated in America before travelling to the rest of the world. It is often seen on the stages of musical productions and is known for its theatrical qualities. The style uses travelling steps, high kicks, leaps, and turns which all need strength and flexibility. This is a highly energetic dance style
LYRICAL JAZZ
Lyrical dance is a dance style that blends elements of ballet and jazz dance. Lyrical dance is generally a little more fluid than ballet and also somewhat faster -- although not as rapidly executed as jazz dance.
CONTEMPORARY
Contemporary dance emerged in the 1950's , after the modern movement and post-modern movement, combining elements of modern dance and classical ballet.
An unprecedented interest of the academic study in Contemporary dance swept across Britain in the past three decades and its popularity is still growing . This development and demand is visible in theatres, television and film.
ACTING
At the Robyn Academy we offer acting classes that can lead to examinations in Acting & Speech & Drama. These are designed for learners who want to focus on vocal, physical and characterisation skills in dramatic performance. Candidates perform and show knowledge and understanding of play extracts from a range of periods and styles, including engaging with devised theatre. Examinations are taken with Trinity College London.
MUSICAL THEATRE
This all-encompassing class combines dance, drama, and song.
A fusion of all show music and dance styles, Musical Theatre takes you to inspirational heights.
The spotlight’s on you! At the Robyn Academy examinations are offered through Trinity College London in Musical Theatre.
CORE CONDITIONING
Our core conditioning class is a combination of aerobic & non-aerobic, muscle-toning, dance and strengthening exercises focusing on core strength in order to develop a strong dancer. We offer classes foe Juniors, Intermediates & Seniors.
STRENGTHENING & FLEXIBILITY WORKOUT
At the Robyn Academy we understand the need to develop flexibility in a safe and controlled manner. Classes are designed to help dancers work on individual programs to maximise a dancers potential. Check out our timetable to see what is currently on offer?
PRIVATE COACHING
The Robyn Academy offers private coaching for festival and competition solos, examination preparation and audition technique. Private classes are bookable as a one off or a regular timetabled class.
TROUPE REHEARSALS
Our highly successful competition teams have regular timetabled classes. Entry to the competition squad is by selection only.
VOCAL COACHING
At the Robyn Academy we offer private vocal lessons bookable each week with our professional vocal coach. Group tuition is available on request as well as our timetable choir class.
